Last WWR for 2026! 24 November: Megan Tighe on ‘Notes from the burning age’

6-7pm, Tuesday 24 November 2026 at Five Leaves Left, 41 Victoria St Hobart

Join us for the last WWR for the year (or as I’ve been calling this edition in my head, ‘What readers read’), as Jane Rawson and guest Megan Tighe discuss Claire North’s ‘Notes from the burning age‘. The age is burning alright, and prolific genre-buster Claire North takes a look back at it from a far-future world to come. Adrian Tchaikovsky (who you should be reading, also) says of it, ‘one of the best books I’ve read in recent years . . . packs a hell of an emotional punch’.

Tickets include a can of wine or mocktail and you can buy one here for $10.

Megan Tighe is a policy analyst, ‘failed’ PhD student, proud Tasmanian, keen cook and perhaps Nipaluna’s most avid and socially engaged reader. She’s a member of the Woman Booker Prize Club with several other (originally) local women, she writes ‘Tassie Book Club’ reviews in The Hobart + Launceston Magazine, and she organises cool events like Book Doof Lutruwita.

WWR is supported by the City of Hobart.
